Five perfect days in Big Sur, California, which could never be Little Sur – everything is BIG, BIG, BIG!!! What an awesome campground Mrs. Jones picked out many months earlier. These spots are hard to get, so be sure to reserve well in advance! Riverside Campground and Cabins, Big Sur was enchanting to say the least…

Complete with a Bluebird on Mrs. Jones shoulder (or at least damn near) while she cooked!

First things first, let’s get the hike out of the way!! Beautiful Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and imitating timeless redwoods, some places just make you feel that there are bigger things than you? Doggy welcome for a short loop, not a full trail!

Back at camp, Otter was doing his best wading… but managed to doggy paddle across a deep pool, so there is hope yet for the fella.

Mrs. Jones had a splash in the icy clean cold water too!!

Switching gears and climbing up out of this forest paradise, it was time to head back North and take a famous seventeen mile drive that had her husband salivating… Not sure why. Does this poor bastard regret not packing his golf clubs?

Guess who was not invited to tour Pebble Beach, but waited patiently and anxiously.

Seal Rock was kinda fun for the golf deprived husband… Of course he would rather be sitting on a rock posing than silly old golfing!

Don’t miss Pfeiffer Beach State Park! Wear a hat, hoodie, scarf or something because the sand is swirling about… The road to the beach is hard to find, but is exactly one mile south of the entrance to Pfeiffer Big Sur on the west side. It’s a windy one lane road for two miles with turn outs, so be careful and polite! Beautiful sunset opportunity!

Mrs. Jones found her favorite restaurant and bar at the Riverside Inn for some socialization with a local flair! Bartender Bob will take great care of you, and great insight into Big Sur from local contractor Travis – the man builds homes that hang off cliffs for anyone that desires one! Weird Californians mostly…

And Dear God, the drive south to Santa Barbara on Pacific Coast Highway!! Not recommended for anyone with a fear of heights!! Too many vistas in the seventy something miles of winding cliffside roads… Here’s a taste!

The prize for making the trek and not skidding off the cliffside while towing a car was… Elephant Seals! Wooohoooo!!

Next stop! Santa Ynez Valley and more wine, wine, wine… and family! Stay tuned!
